What Capgemini does and how it hires in 2026

Capgemini is an IT services and consulting company (an ESN in France) with about 420,000 people in more than 50 countries and €22.1bn in revenue in 2024. It hires engineers and consultants who work on client projects.

In January 2026, Capgemini announced it could cut up to about 2,400 jobs in France, close to 7% of its 35,000 staff in the country, through a voluntary departure plan (RCC) and internal reskilling, with no forced layoffs. It still posts openings, but hiring in France is more cautious.

The stages, in order

Capgemini France's official page describes four steps:

  • Online application: Capgemini says it takes 3 to 5 minutes; a CV is required and the cover letter is optional.
  • Preparation: research the company and the role before the interviews.
  • Interview(s) by phone, video or in person: they can combine behavioural, technical and cultural-fit questions, plus assessments.
  • Onboarding: a pre-onboarding called GetONBOARD and a monthly welcome event, RISE.

What each stage tests

On its interview-tips page, Capgemini spells out the path: a first phone call, interviews with HR and business teams (remote or on site), tests that can include English and a technical test, and the formal offer. That page is written mainly for internships and work-study roles.

  • HR: your motivation, availability and, according to candidates, your salary expectations and start date.
  • Business team: your technical experience and how you would work on a client project.
  • English test: part of the official process, because many projects are international.
  • Technical test: candidates report questions on SQL, Python, C++, object-oriented programming, databases, operating systems and their final-year project, basic to intermediate for junior roles. Several of these reports come from outside France.
  • Qualities Capgemini says it looks for: curiosity, open-mindedness, adaptability, teamwork, a consulting mindset, a sense of service and professionalism.

Capgemini's values

Capgemini publishes seven values. It helps to have a concrete example for two or three of them:

  • Honesty
  • Boldness
  • Trust
  • Freedom
  • Fun
  • Modesty
  • Team spirit

Which language the interview is in

Capgemini does not publish the interview language. Its French careers pages and job posts are in French, so expect the interview in French; this is an inference, so confirm it with the recruiter. English matters in another way: the official process can include an English test, and developer posts in France ask for fluent or professional English to work in international settings.

Tips

  • Follow Capgemini's four official tips: write your story, do your research, prepare your questions and be authentic.
  • Bring a clean, concise CV with your LinkedIn profile.
  • Prepare examples of problem solving and collaboration: those are the ones Capgemini names on its tips page.
  • Review your stack and database basics for the technical test, and practise talking about your work in English in case there is a test.
  • If you are not chosen, Capgemini says you can apply to several roles and apply again later.
