What the Globant interview is like

Globant hires for client projects, mostly for companies in the US and Europe. So its process has a step a product company does not: after you convince Globant, you often have to convince the client too. Your English matters from the first call.

The stages, in order

The process changes by country, role and client, but candidates describe almost the same sequence.

  • Recruiter (20–30 min): your experience, availability and salary expectations. Often they check your English here too: the call switches to English without warning, or they ask you to talk about your life or work in English.
  • English check: some candidates report a separate English interview, others an online test with audio. For US clients the level they want is usually high (B2 or above).
  • Technical interview (45–90 min): questions about your stack and the basics (object-oriented programming, testing, your framework). Depending on the team it can include live coding or an online multiple-choice test.
  • Second technical round (sometimes): deeper on architecture and implementation, often with someone from the project.
  • Client or project-lead interview: the client checks if you fit their team. Usually in English.

What each stage tests

At a consultancy the interview is more practical than at a product company: they care less about your story and more about whether you can deliver on a specific project in your first month.

  • Conversational English under a little pressure: explaining something technical without a script.
  • Stack basics: explaining concepts in your own words (dependency injection, closures, SOLID) more than hard algorithms.
  • Remote readiness: working hours that overlap with the client, working on your own, written communication.
  • Project fit: whether your experience matches what the client needs right now.

Typical questions

The kind of questions candidates report, paraphrased:

  • "Tell me about a recent project and what you did in it" (often in English).
  • "Explain the difference between an abstract class and an interface."
  • "How would you test this component? What kind of tests would you write?"
  • "How do you handle a requirement that changes in the middle of a sprint?"
  • "Can you work during the client's hours?"

Tips

Prepare your professional introduction in English and practise it out loud: it is the first thing they ask for and the easiest thing to notice.

Have one project example ready, told as situation, what you did and the result, in Spanish and in English.

If you reach the client interview, prepare it as a new interview: the client did not see your earlier rounds.

Practise this interview: with Entrevia you can rehearse each stage out loud, in Spanish, English, Portuguese or French, and get an honest review at the end.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Globant interview in English?
Partly. The first call often starts in Spanish, but many candidates report that part of it is in English to check your level, and an interview with a US client is normally in English.
What English level does Globant ask for?
It depends on the project. For US clients, candidates report B2 or above. Local projects may ask for less.
How long does the Globant hiring process take?
Candidates report anything from about 2 weeks to 2 months. Waiting between stages, especially before the client interview, is what makes it long.
Does Globant do live coding?
Sometimes. Some candidates report live coding, others only theory questions or an online test. Be ready to explain your code out loud either way.
What is the client interview?
An interview with the company you would work for through Globant. They check if you fit their team; it is usually short, technical and in English.
